Use Racktop directory to host elasticsearch database informa

Post by jonrig22 »

Can we use a racktop directory to host the elasticsearch database data?

Due to size constraints, we are trying to install Nagios LS in such a way that the contents of the /usr/local/nagioslogserver/elasticsearch/data directory is mounted onto a racktop file share directory. We have tried turning off elastic search and log stash, mounting the data directory onto the racktop and rsync-ing the data to said racktop. We set file and directory owners to nagios and nagios with permissions at 755. However, when we start up the GUI we can no longer log in. The error is "Username does not exist". If we restore files to original state then it functions as normal. Is there a reason that if this data when offloaded onto a separate machine is not accessible by the Nagios LS database? Is there a way to specify within the Nagios Gui to change where the data is being saved?
