Log server importance
Hi , if my company have Nagios XI, Is it compulsory to have a Logserver in order to store the logs from Nagios XI?
Re: Log server importance
Hi @devopsguru1,
Welcome to the forums!
To your question. No, it is not compulsory to have Nagios Log Server. If you would rather send your Nagios XI logs to a syslog server, you can do that. Just be careful when modifying Nagios XI, as there are a lot of moving parts.

Thank you so much for the answer, can you be bit elaborate about the moving parts while moving it to the syslog server?
Re: Log server importance
What I mean is that you should be careful not to interfere with any files, permissions, or users that Nagios uses to do its job. Make note of any changes that you make, just in case something stops working in Nagios. That could help with troubleshooting in the future.
