I'm new to Nagios, and I'm trying to set up a server at work so that I can monitor the status of about 15 computers around the world. I'm having issues when it comes to keeping connection to the host. When I initially run Nagios, I can usually connect from a non-host PC for about 5 minutes, until it goes down and I can't reach again unless I shut down and restart the server. Because I'm at work, I've been trying to nail down what could be blocking the server. I've tried...
Working with a clean Windows image, no programs except for Windows standards (IE, etc), no anti-virus, no company programs
Port scanning with Nmap of the used ports, all "filtered", so little help there
Completely disabling Windows Firewall on a clean install
I've consulted with my supervisor and our security team about this, so its not like I'm trying to mess around under the corporate radar. Would anyone have any idea what could be the source of a working connection dropping off suddenly? Thanks for the help.
