I am trying to reset the nagiosadmin password on our nagios log server and running into the same issue. Does not matter what combo i try it takes the command and just spins all day never actually doing anything. It does not matter what i try to use for the new password. here is one with the new password trying to be newpassword... Same issue. Anyone know how that actually works?

/usr/local/nagioslogserver/scripts/reset_nagiosadmin_password.sh --password newpassword

It looks like you are trying to reset the Nagios Admin password using the script provided by Nagios Log Server. The command you have used seems to be correct.

However, since you mentioned that it's stuck and giving no output, there might be some issues with the script or the server.

I suggest trying the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Check if the script is executable and has the necessary permissions.
Run the script with the -v option to see if it provides any verbose output or error messages.
Try running the script as the nagios user or with elevated privileges using sudo.
Check the Nagios Log Server logs for any error messages or warnings related to the script or the password reset process.
If none of the above steps work, you may need to contact Nagios support for further assistance.
