Automate configuration Wizard

Post by RickNWB »

Hi,

I am new to Nagios and I am not able to find the topic I am needing.

I have a several hundred servers which I want to monitor. I have a powershell script what will install the agent on the servers but to monitor, I need to add the servers with the NCPA Monitoring Wizard. Is it possible to automate this with a script? And if possible, how?

Please let me know.

I define one or more templates that contain all info not related to the hosts. Then have a script that creates host .cfg files with the template, hostname and address. Then I import the .cfg files.
I create hostgroups and add the hosts to them.
I make the services generic and add the hostgroups to the services.

I set up a template or several that hold data unrelated to hosts. Then, have a script generate host.cfg files with the predefined template, hostname, and address.
