A fully automated Nagios setup is typically set up by an organization with respect to their infrastructure. There's multiple ways to go about this and it's a very broad topic. When we do offer advice on such setups, it's typically done as contracted consulting.

Nagios Core is the original open source monitoring software maintained by Nagios Enterprises and community contributors. It is free to all.

Nagios XI is the "extended interface" version of Nagios Core. It offers several more functional components and easier tools such as configuration wizards, better reports, auto-discovery, out-of-the-box email notifications, etc.

Hi Mcapra,

thanks for reply, Please can you help me about Nagios Flavor

In my company we are using Enterprise level IT Infra.(110 Servers in VMware Platform, 200 Network Switch & 25 Router, VOIP, APC UPS 20Kvps etc),
we don't have so much budget
which Nagios flavor is better in my company,
Nagios FAN - already using but not getting proper reports from FAN (http://www.fullyautomatednagios.org/)
Nagios Core
Nagios XI

can I get the reports from Nagios Core or Nagios XI
- CPU
- RAM
- HDD
- Application which make by my company.
- Services ( like Java, IIS, RAID, LVM, Apache, tomcat, mysql, oracle, MS SQL, etc)
- website monitoring.
- any database.

FAN is not ours. I have never used it, so I cannot recommend it. It may work fine for you though.

Has your company had a quickstart? https://www.nagios.com/services/quickstart/nagios-xi/ . Also, might find a XI Webinar useful: https://www.nagios.com/events/webinars/#Intro%20XI

Core and XI can both monitor pretty much anything. However, it really depends on what you mean by reporting. If enterprise-class reporting is important to you, then I would definitely go with Nagios XI.

There are many features in XI that we do not include in Core. XI is our commercial product, and Core is our free open-source version. If we put all our paid features into our free product we would not stay in business very long.
