sending alerts email from a custom mail address
sending alerts email from a custom mail address
I have configured "Send Mail From" option in my Nagios server by navigate to "Admin -> Manage Email Settings" and changed the address like this:
Nagios Alerts <nagios.alerts@xxxxxxx.com>
After that, I have tested by sending a test mail from Nagios and got whatever I set.
But when nagios is sending alerts, I got from some different mail address. i.e nagios@hostname
Please help here.

Re: sending alerts email from a custom mail address
Can you go into the CCM and open the contact you are sending the mail to and let us know what the host/service commands are set to.
Re: sending alerts email from a custom mail address
Host command: notify host by email
Service command: notify service by email
Service command: notify service by email

Re: sending alerts email from a custom mail address
you need to use the xi_host_notification_handler and xi_service_notification_handler commands, as those are what are respected in XI.
using notify-host-by-email/notify-service-by-email will simply use the reference in your commands.cfg which is the Core way of "doing things".

Re: sending alerts email from a custom mail address
After doing the said changes, I am not receiving any alert email but receiving test notification.

If you log in as the user you are expecting to receive a notification as, click the username in the upper right and select "Notification Preferences" is Enable notifications checked?vinish098 wrote:After doing the said changes, I am not receiving any alert email but receiving test notification.
Are the boxes below that all checked?
Under "Notification Methods" is Receive alerts via email checked?

Ok, if you click on the green check mark in the upper right is everything green?
If so, can you verify via Reports -> Notifications that a notification has been sent to this user since you made the change yesterday?

Re: sending alerts email from a custom mail address
is user vinish the user that isn't getting the email?
The screenshot you showed earlier of the notification preferences, were you logged in as the vinish user when showing them?
Can you also click the "Account Information"
