No Ticket generation through Nagios

Hi All,

We are getting frequent connection lost between Nagios XI and Service Now.
Automatic ticket is created in service now if any alert is there on nagios .

But in past days we are receiving no tickets in Service Now

Kindly suggest any solution for the above.

Hello, @hoegh. Looks like your XI server is unable to connect to the SMTP server. Please go to the Admin menu in XI GUI, then click on Manage Mail Settings menu in the left column, make sure that you selected TLS or SSL option and entered correct username and password to authenticate against this SNMP server.
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.

We are neither using TLS os SSL for SMTP server.

Hi Team,

We have made no changes and still have error with the SMTP mail.
We need an immediate solution , if something can be suggested that will be useful.

@hoegh, The messages from the phpmailer.log indicate that your SMTP is using STARTTLS. Please double check with your SMTP server provider because it looks like it does require SSL authentication, and Nagios is failing to authenticate.
As an option, you can switch your mailing settings to Sendmail and not use SMTP. A built-in php send mailer script will be used.
Also, looks like you have corruption in the database. Please run the following command:
/usr/local/nagiosxi/scripts/repair_databases.sh

DB has been repaired.
We confirmed with Messaging team regarding SMTP Settings. But Still we are getting SMTP Connect() Failed error.
We tried Sendmail, it showing that mail will be sent to entered email ID. but no mail is received on recipient side.
Please suggest what need to be done now.

@hoegh, You could put the setting back to SMTP and then run the TCP dump command while Nagios is trying to send a message/connect to the SMTP server.
tcpdump -i any -s 0 port 25 -w /tmp/nagios.pcap
That way we could analyze at what point the connection between the Nagios and SMTP server breaks.

Also please go to the page where you attempted to send a test email with the Sendmail script, insert a different test email address(preferably on Gmail), and then let me know if that address receives a test message.

Also Changed mail to gmail account, but no mail received.
