Problem with configure host via Nagios Core Config Manager

Post by perius »

Hey

I tried to set up a monitoring with a host and service via Nagios Core Config Manager. ( Host Managment - Add New)
I have filed in all the requirements. And when I click save the host or service doesnt show in Host/Service detail.

When i Apply Configuration, i get this.
Command submitted for processing...
Waiting for configuration verification.......
Configuration verification failed.

I get a message saying
View a snapshot of this configuration error

2010-03-22 10:19:15 Config Error 1269249555.tar.gz
2010-03-22 10:12:02 Config Error 1269249122.tar.gz
2010-03-22 10:07:56 Config Error 1269248876.tar.gz

How do I get the host in Host Details with the rest of the Wizard Config hosts?
Have I missed something?

You read the Config Error files and then correct the error.

Did you view each page/tab and fill in the Required parts there? I must say the GUI dosen't check for every configuration error, I had something similar happen.

Perhaps these should be reported and tracked.

I got the host working and it shows in the Host detail. Performance graphs how ever doesnt show. If i config the Misc Settings are they going to show up?

It says: Performace Data Unavaible
Please dont tell its a trail version issue. I really dont want another negative thouhgt about nagios.

Eitherway, about the "hosts doest show problem" it was old cfg files in nagios/hosts directory. I have this virtuell client I test with. When I delete the host and all the services in Nagiosxi webinterface, for some reason the hosts directory stil keeps the cfg. So the new and the old cfg with the same ip smacked in each other and i got the error txt files.

It takes a bit for check data to accumulate for there to be graphs.
