High Availability with Nagios XI?

Post by jamesconner »

Is there a way to make Nagios XI highly available? I'm not looking for redundancy inside a VMware cluster (ie, if one VMware host dies, it restarts the virtual machine on another member in the cluster). I want to be able to failover the monitoring to my other data center, if the data center with the Nagios server went down.

This is supported just as it is with Nagios Core, using Event Handlers.

I would assume it would be slightly more complicated, given the databases and extra configuration items involved. I've used Nagios core for a long time, but never with NDOutils, PNP4 and nagiosQL.

Should be fine, you'd do the same thing but instead of using vi you use your fav. Browser. Putting it that way makes it sounds like a terrible regression, but rest assured that this handicap is not without it's good points.
