Oracle DB query error ORA-12545: Connect failed because tar

Post by robertk »

Hi,

I want to try the trial version to present proof of concept for Nagios monitoring system and at the moment I have a problem with configuring Oracle DB connection.

error stands:

CRITICAL - cannot connect to 172.25.xx.xx:1521/db. ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist (DBD ERROR: OCIServerAttach)

Would you be so kind and point me to the right direction?
As well as I would like to know is there any solution/manual to set up monitoring of Oracle Weblogic domain.

Kind regards,
Robert

What are you using to try to check this oracle database? We need to know what steps you followed to configure this check so we know what plugin you are using, as well as the values you are passing it. Also, if you did not follow it, you do need to follow this guide if using our Oracle DB wizards:

Hi,

I believe it was my fault. I should not use sysdba account to monitoring. After I set up separate monitoring account all works fine.
Thank you and apology for all confusions.

Now if you be able to point me where I can find manual to add monitoring of Oracle Weblogic Server would be great.

Kind regards,
Robert
