Hi everyone, we're using Nagios here at our company and we'd like to set up SMS alerting for a lot of our servers, but at the moment we're unable to acquire a GMS modem to do this. Is there any way around this? I know you can do email to text, but that's no more convenient than email, as it's still a single point of failure, no email, no text.
We do have an Avaya IP500. Is there anyway we can utilize this to send SMS alerts?

Another option is to use a SMS provider, which has an API you could post to.There are quite a few different ones available these days.
As for the Avaya IP500 device, is it able to send SMS messages out by sending data to it a certain way?

So I found a way you can do this without a modem, it still requires an internet connection though: http://osxdaily.com/2014/03/12/send-sms ... mand-line/
