Hello Support,
My current setup is as below:
5 - windows servers
service_group: windows_uptime (created this so I can manage the uptime check settings from here - in all 5 uptime services for 5 windows servers)
service_template: have created this to manage/apply all check settings for above service_group.
I have changed the template from "Bulk Modifications" tool for the above service group.
So based on my understanding, all settings from the service template should be applied for all 5 Uptime services for the 5 windows servers.
But that is not the case.
Please help.
I want to use the same logic for other customized Linux services as well.

You would want to do the "Change a Single Config Option" and make each of these changes.
The reason the other isn't working is that you are applying a template and the template options get overridden by the service options if they exist.

Re: Check settings not inherited by service in nagiosxi
Hey Scott, thank you for taking the time to reply on this.
My questions are:
1] Where do I find this "Change a single config option"? I do not see it on the template that I created.
2] When Iadd a host, by default services are created and have options set at the time of adding a host, does this mean I am doing something wrong?
3] Is there an option that I can turn on/off to disable all individual service options and that in turn would apply the template settings once that is done.
I now have close to a 100 hosts already, it would be hectic to change the settings one by one for every service
While I await your reply, I am going to try and find more about this.
Once again thank you for replying.

In CCM -> Tools -> Bulk Modification Toolansaaft wrote:] Where do I find this "Change a single config option"? I do not see it on the template that I created.
Do you have services that are assigned to a hostgroup and you are assigning the host to a hostgroup? If this is the case, the services will be assigned to ALL hosts in the hostgroup, including a newly created hostansaaft wrote:2] When Iadd a host, by default services are created and have options set at the time of adding a host, does this mean I am doing something wrong?
See my answer to #2ansaaft wrote:3] Is there an option that I can turn on/off to disable all individual service options and that in turn would apply the template settings once that is done.
Re: Check settings not inherited by service in nagiosxi
So I've just created host and service groups and been using the bulk changes option.
Thanks for your reply!
