install Xi on a Redhat box doing AD auth fails

Post by kcobean »

I'm trying to install xi on a Redhat server that is required by security to do network authentication against AD. When the installer tries to run ./2-usergroups, it fails because it thinks the user already exists. The user is not present in /etc/passwd, which seems to be where the installer script is looking, and if I run a userdel, it fails becuase the user is not present in /etc/passwd.

does anyone know how to get around this? Can I specify a different local user account for the installer?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Please post your /etc/nsswitch.conf so that we can review your settings.
