Nagios XI after standard licence expires

Post by mkrejza »

Hello,

we are using Nagios XI Standard edition and we decided not to continue with the paid version. I would like to ask what will happen after the licence expires. Will the Nagios Core continue working (and only the XI functions won’t be available) without any intervention or do we need to deploy new instance of Nagios core if we still want to use the free version of Nagios.

Thanks and Regards

Hello,

Nagios XI will function normally, but you won't have access to future updates.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hello,

I'm also interested in the subject.
Okay for nagiosxi but if we want to upgrade nagios core?
Should I uninstall/deactivate the nagiosXI part or do I need a new core nagios installation?

Thanks

Hi,

You should be able to upgrade Nagios Core itself, but keep in mind that if you are using an old version of XI there many be some incompatibles with Nagios Core and also the ndoutils broker module.

Best to make a backup or take a vm snapshot before making any changes.
