Nagios server and nagios agent

Hi Team,
Is there any rule in nagios world that we are running the nagios server this version and nagios agent version should be this?

No, the plugin output codes to indicate status haven't changed are quite simple. However, for agents I would recommend keeping them current or at the same version. For example, for major or minor upgrades of NRPE, then upgrade the check_nrpe plugin on the Nagios Server as well. However, keeping your Nagios XI server update to date will be sufficient.
