Send SNMP traps from Nagios Core to Nagios XI

Post by lukedevon »

Hi

Can I send SNMP traps from Nagios Core to Nagios XI monitoring system ?

We are planing to implement Nagios XI + Fusion centralized monitoring system for remote nodes of each sites. I have 3 remote locations to monitor.

So I am thinking , to configure Nagios core in each remote sites and they will work as SNMP receiver and it will collect the SNMP traps; and I want to send those SNMP traps to centralized(NOC) Nagios XI ssytem.

Is this doable? Please advice.

This certainly is doable but I don't have a guide or any pre-written script/plugin to do it.

This can be accomplished by either using an event handler on every host/service that you want to send to the XI server, that contains the command that has the trap sending instructions, or if they are going to send for all hosts/services you can set the global_host_event_handler & global_service_event_handler in the nagios.cfg
