browser doesn't load nagiosxi

Post by robwellesley »

Hi

Downloaded nagiosxi VM ware, fired up in player. logged in as root got IP - 192.168.234.124 (correct for our subnet)
browsed to IP; Browser times out.

/var/log/httpd/access_log only shows a continuous stream of....

127.0.0.1 - - [08/Feb/2010:04:32:02 -0600] "POST /nagiosxi/backend/ HTTP/1.1" 200 803 "-" "BinGet/1.00.A (http://www.bin-co.com/php/scripts/load/)"
127.0.0.1 - - [08/Feb/2010:04:32:17 -0600] "POST /nagiosxi/backend/ HTTP/1.1" 200 803 "-" "BinGet/1.00.A (http://www.bin-co.com/php/scripts/load/)"
127.0.0.1 - - [08/Feb/2010:04:32:33 -0600] "POST /nagiosxi/backend/ HTTP/1.1" 200 803 "-" "BinGet/1.00.A (http://www.bin-co.com/php/scripts/load/)"
127.0.0.1 - - [08/Feb/2010:04:32:48 -0600] "POST /nagiosxi/backend/ HTTP/1.1" 200 803 "-" "BinGet/1.00.A (http://www.bin-co.com/php/scripts/load/)"

....every 15 seconds

With no log of access request from the browser

service httpd status shows a pid running...

I can telnet to 192.168.234.124 80 and get a connection which is logged.
...192.168.234.1 - - [08/Feb/2010:05:31:08 -0600] "]" 200 2646 "-" "-"

Any ideas?

Date was wrong. I set the local timezone to Pacific Auckland. No difference.
Interestingly sshd is running but I can't get a connection using putty either....

OK

The problem was that I can't browse to the VMware Appliance from the PC that the Player is running on. Moved to another PC and connected fine.
Is this normal behaviour?

Strange. It could be a routing table issue related to the network mode selected by vmware player. There are a few modes to select from IIRC like "bridged", etc. Changing the network settings might fix the problem with accessing it from the same machine running vmware player.
