Notifications on Openfire?
Re: Notifications on Openfire?
Well I did this at the beginning too, but after days without results i thought about maybe this could be my problem :/
I still got two seperated VMs one with openfire and the other with nagiosxi ... should I give it a try with seperated vms? Would you maybe take a look again then?
Regards

Re: Notifications on Openfire?
Hi Yaerox,
The same steps should work on the two VMs, don't see why it wouldn't.
Remember that XI has different file locations though.
Maybe wait for the Nagios admins to take a look at your previous reply, they may have a better insight (I'm just a Nagios user, offering advice when I can xD).
I don't think NagiBot is official Nagios so it won't be fully supported on the forums, hence it helps to contact the actual dev for the project when you get stuck.
Kind Regards,
Gary Shergill

Re: Notifications on Openfire?
Yeah already did this ...
I talked to a serveradmin to check if I did something wrong on the connection-settings and he adviced me to try to set a higher debug level on openfire to get more informations because it looks like he gets connected.. Telnet works, and Nagibot says he got connected. I'll do some workarounds before trying to get this running on two seperated VMs.
Anyway, thanks alot for your help.

Re: Notifications on Openfire?
Well I had one last question gshergill,
I think this could be a problem caused by some openfire settings. Do you use default settings or did you changed anything?
Regards ^^

Hi Yaerox,
My Openfire is a pretty standard install, no xmpp connection settings were changed.
Good luck!

Re: Notifications on Openfire?
Yeah I will.
But unfotunately I don't get this running ... same problem. Bot seems to be online but doesn't get shown as online on openfire :/
Already contaced the dev of the plugin.
If someone got any idea what could fix my problem, I'd please you to post it too
Thanks in advice.

Re: Notifications on Openfire?
Do you have logs on the openfire server that can be checked?

Re: Notifications on Openfire?
just to be sure, can you post the output of the following
Code: Select all
ls -l /usr/local/nagios/var/rw/nagibot.fifo
