CRITICAL: Service results have stopped incoming

Consistently getting the below status on multiple services. Issue is not persistent. Status changes from OK to CRITICAL: Service results have stopped incoming, intermittently

CRITICAL: Service results have stopped incoming

Any ideas on how to diagnose the issue further.

Are these passive checks? If so, what are the freshness settings and are the freshness threshold longer than the passive check interval?
