I have over 100+ hosts and many host groups, services, etc. I would like to have certain people notified of certain critical service alerts for specific hostgroups.

This is not a feature of Nagios core from my understanding, the way it works in Nagios XI is you can select multiple hosts/services at once for contact definitions.
