no /etc/rc.d folder?

Post by mlevineisme »

I apologize in advance for being a linux and nagios newbie.

I do not have an /etc/rc.d directory. From the nagios directions I see that some init scripts are run from that location but I cannot see one.
I do see the following
rc0.d
rc1.d
rc2.d
...
rc6.d

any idea why this is, or how I can fix it? Thanks for your patience and help.

If you are on a distribution other than RedHat/CentOS that would explain not having it. You can probably just substitute /etc/init.d/<some_init_script> wherever you see it.
