How to calculate the maximum hosts / services of Nagios Core

Post by jackdragma »

Hello,

My platform is 270 hosts and 3000 approximately checks. Core Nagios checks launch is delayed even more.

I have configured:

use_large_installation_tweaks = 1

I also calculated that the value is for service_inter_check_delay_method. It's 0.3

service_inter_check_delay_method = 0.3

I would like to know how to calculate the maximum hosts / services of Nagios Core., for example 150 hosts and 1500 services per Nagios Core server.

Thanks all.

There can be a huge variation as to how many hosts and services can be setup per server. This depends on what checks you're running, how powerful the server is, active vs passive checks, graphing with PNP and using performance data, etc. Here's a good doc on how to get the most out of your server though.
