I had a problem today where I had a blocking outage (router) with serveral
devices behind it. I should also note that I have Nagios configured to not
notify on unreachable
The problem is that I had a box behind the down router that went down at the
same time (marked unreachable due to ther router being down). When the
router became reachable/recovered, the box behind the router which was still
down continued to be marked 'unreachable' (its previous status) instead of
being marked 'down'. Thus, no notifications were sent that the box was down
despite the fact that the router was back up.
I haven't looked to see where the bug is, I just noticed it several minutes
ago and wanted to notify others of the problem.
