At a time Nagios can handle/monitor how much devices or services

Depends on the devices more then anything, but it would also depend on the monitoring device. The greatest factor is the fabric from the monitoring device to the monitored devices.

Thus there is no one answer, tough many can give you a ball park. It would be better to describe your setup and then ask, in some places some thousands of services would be supported and in others only a few thousand on a single monitoring server.

We can do distributed monitoring, but I'm not sure any one could guess as to how far this scales. I'm not aware of any one has found the roof on what can be done with the current software.

mmestnik what do you mean by distributed monitoring?

Is it possible to set up a collector type NAGIOS that passes data to another NAGIOS for graphing etc?

Is there a document on any of this?
