IPv6 and check_http issues

IPv6 and check_http issues

-bash-3.00$ ./check_http -6 Ipv6.google.com -v
CRITICAL - Socket timeout after 10 seconds
-bash-3.00$ ./check_http -6 -H 2001:4860:8004::68 -v
CRITICAL - Socket timeout after 10 seconds

any help on why the http check is failing would be great.
