check_log issues

I downloaded both check_log2 and check_log3. I installed them in my test environment in order to capture failures in /var/adm/messages file. it is working as I expected. However, Nagios keeps sending emails every minute with the following statement:
LOG FILE - No status change detected. Status = 2.
I don't want to get any email from Nagios if failures are not detected. by the way, I am querying for the word: failed, crit, error.
is there a way for me fix that.

My server is running Solaris 10 Sparc.
Nagios is running on Solaris 10 Sparc
NRPE plugin is running on Solaris 10 Sparc
