Archive Old Records From Nagios Database

Hello everyone,

I´ve checking the configuration files of my Nagios server, because I realized that used space disk grow gradually last months, and I found that the files and directory described below are very big:

/usr/local/nagios/var/service-perfdata --> 3.6GB
/var/lib/mysql/nagios/nagios_logentries.MYD --> 3.6GB

I´d like to know whether there´s some procedure to archive old records from nagios and decrease the size of the files described above or if is possible to use some tool or script to make this action.

Could you please tell me what the best manner to solve this problem?
