Still fumbling around in the dark I think.
I have not installed/configured NRDS, only NRDP server. Is NRDS required for this to work?
When you say a "valid and current host configuration" are you referring to my nagios server hosts.cfg file which contains:
define host{
use linux-server
host_name devut514
alias devut514
address devut514.unigroupinc.com
}
or are you referring to some other NRDP or NRDS config file that I need to be looking at?

You do not need nrds to have nrdp work. He was referring to the configuration on the remote system you are attempting to query, the one running nrdp on.
Nagios-Plugins maintainer exclusively, unless you have other C language bugs with open-source nagios projects, then I am happy to help! Please pm or use other communication to alert me to issues as I no longer track the forum.
Re: Nagios Core 4.0 with NCPA and NRDP
I have moved on to using check_ncpa.py and active checks. This seems to be working well. I may revisit passive checks down the road if I find the need.

Sounds good we'll lock this up for now.
