I've installed Nagios Core 3.2.3 on Ubuntu 12.04 server, using the repository. I've got it just about configured right for basic service monitoring, but for some reason, the hosts themselves have been sitting as "Pending" for hours. Even forcing checks didn't trigger an update. Has anyone got any idea what I may be missing?
UPDATE:
Okay, so I had a brain failure. I'd imported the list of hosts from an old install rather than retype them all, and they didn't have a "check_command" nor "use generic-host". Adding the latter solved the problem.
