How to monitor MS SQL Server database using nagios

Post by ravis007 »

Hi,
I am using nagios for monitoring all my remote linux & windows machines.
Now I want to monitor MS SQL Server database using nagios.
My requirement is like -
I have one database in MS SQL Server containing 10 employees.
So I want to monitor if 10 employees are present there, then nagios should show status OK for MS SQL Server.
And id there are less employees into the database, then it should give alert or critical message.

For doing this all, what I have to.
Please tell me detailed steps to do this or provide me the pointers for this.

Please Help.
Thanks in advance.

You are looking to do content checks against MS SQL?

I don't think we've ever done that, but there are many tools for working with MS SQL perhaps one of them can help.

Take a look here:
