Nagios 3.0

Post by brownie »

Hi all

This is my first post, and i'm not sure if i'm on the right place..
It's related to Nagios 3.0 (but i don't know if it's the core or whatever)
but i have a general question...

Let me explain the situation.
I've got multiple checks running, let's say i get a critical.
Nagios sends me an e-mail to say that i have a critical, but for instance, i'm on a holiday, so i can't help the problem.
So is there a way, that (for example) after 5 e-mails, someone else get also an e-mail so he/she can solve the problem (but i get also that e-mail, so after 5 e-mail, 2 persons get the same e-mail notification).

I hope you guys understand what i'm trying to say and i do hope someone can answer me.

Thanks in advance

P.S.: mods, if this is in the wrong section of the forum, pls move it to the right one! thx

Brownie,

Welcome to forums.

Nagios can do exactly that. They are called escalations. A good document to read up on them is located here:

http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/3_0/escalations.html

Hope this helps.
