I'll start off by saying that Nagios was the first product that made me try Linux and I'm still getting to grasps with the wonders of Linux so things may need to be explained to myself a bit more than other users users.
I've noticed that sending out custom notifications to hosts and services does not work correctly and all notifications that are sent out are "Recovery" notifications. I have found the bug here http://tracker.nagios.org/view.php?id=168#bugnotes but don't know what I need to do with the .patch file as I've never done this before. I've had a look round the web and nothing has really helped so I thought I'd ask away...
I'm using Ubuntu Server 11.04, Nagios 3.2.3 installed /usr/local/nagios/
Any help would be great!
