how to disable alerts for shared service

Post by pnewlon »

I have a host that shares three services with quite a few other hosts. The service (snmp get) notification interval is configured to send alerts every 180 minutes. How can I turn off the alert for one (shared) service on one host and not turn all the alerts off for that host or all the alerts for that service?

Host: 00928_ENV
Shared services: ping, get_temp, get_humidity

The get_humidity service will be in 'alert' status until sometime late next week. I need to know if the get_temperature goes into critical state so host alerts have to stay on but getting messages every three hours about something I know about is annoying. If it were just one host I wouldn't mind but right now I have several that are in critical humidity status.

Thanks!

Phil
