LDAP authentication for Nagios3

Post by t.nguyenvan »

Afternoon,

I'm a newbie with Nagios 3 that I just installed on Ubuntu 11.04 TLS.

I was asked to make some research on the following topics:
1. When we open the web browser to connect to the Nagios3 web interface, we normally have a popup for basic authentication for a userX. With the file htpasswd it is possible to define several users. Is Nagios3 able to authenticate users through ldap like htpasswd? If yes, how does it work?

2. Once a userX is authenticated, is Nagios3 able to restrict the number of machine that userX can see ? Is it possible to define grants and permissions for each users?

Thanks for your help.
