upgrade nagios-3.3.1

hello All

well i am trying to upgrade our nagios core from 3.2.3 to 3.3.1 and the 3.3.1 file sure is much smaller (1MB) and when i untar it it does nothing no folder nothing
is there something wrong with the file on the website ?

The download worked fine for me. :P The file size should be ~1.7MB & its SHA1 hash should be 7b2523de0dacb51b5162dd53fc4c909397800125 according to this page, so you can double check whether something went wrong when you downloaded it.

well when i upload and untar the file there is no directory (nagios-3.3.1) i have no idea what the hel is wrong i have upgrade this many many times

I don't know if this makes a difference but the directory should just be named 'nagios'. Try running the following commands on your copy and post the output:

$ sha1sum nagios-3.3.1.tar.gz
$ tar -tzf nagios-3.3.1.tar.gz

when you untar it it should make a dir nagios-3.x.x and it is not making that dir. did something change or is it making a default nagios dir

Looks like it is making a nagios directory, and not the nagios-3.3.1 dir.

ok got it. instead of it making a DIR that is like nagios-3.x.x it just now makes a DIR of Nagios. i think they need to update there Doc's
