Hi,

every night I get many Service Timeouts (Plugin timed out after 10 seconds). I changed the service_check_timeout value at nagios.cfg to 600 sec. But the timeouts are still there and the plugins still timeout after 10 seconds.
Is there a solution to increase the service_check_timeout value to prevent these timeouts?

The plugin itself might have it's own timeout of 10 seconds. A lot of the check plugins let you use the "-t" flag to specify a timeout for the individual check. Which plugin are you receiving this error with?

I get timeouts with the check_by_ssh Plugin together with check_oracle_healt, check_winhd, check_winmem and check_win_cpuload or with the check_http Plugin. I added the "-t" flag to the check_by_ssh and check_http commands now.
