So check_nt is not going to be able to execute the plugin, it is very limited to what it can do, hence this is why we need to use check_nrpe with NSClient++ and the nrpe module.

Also, what version of NSClient++ are you using?

Can you please answer this question. If you don't know, run this from your XI server:

It looks like your config file does not have the changes we requested, this is why it is not working.

Do this:
Open a command prompt

cd "\Program Files\NSClient++\"
nscp settings --activate-module NRPEServer --add-defaults
nscp settings --path /settings/NRPE/server --key "allow arguments" --set true
nscp settings --path /settings/NRPE/server --key "allow nasty characters" --set true

Restart the NSClient++ service
Now test from your Nagios server:
check_nrpe -H 192.168.1.10 -c check_files -a path="c:\\test\\test.txt" 'filter=size gt 100k' 'master-syntax={%total% Files Found} %list%' 'syntax=%filename%: %size%' MaxCrit=1

As a note, I would upgrade to at least NSClient++ 0.4.3.138 onwards, as the commands from your version to this version have changed a bit.

One last thing, NSClient++ has a module built in to check files, so there is no need for any extra scripts. My examples use the built in modules.

check_open_files works, but I do not know how to check the command line

I added NSCP settings on the command line, then did restart the NSClient++ service and:

Exception processing request: Request contained arguments (not currently allowed, check the allow arguments option).

So, if there is a built-in module for checking files, how can I check the size of the file?

Can you add this to your NSClient configuration?
