Check file size windows

the same problem
I tried single quotes and double quotes.

Re: Check file size windows
Did you also do the double backslashes? Please provide both the commands run and their output so we can get a better idea of what is working as what is not.
Also, since this is not a Nagios idea I will be moving this to the Nagios Core forum.

Re: Check file size windows
OK, as I check with the command line:
for example:
./check_nt -H 192.168.0.10 -p 12489 -v MEMUSE -l -w 80 -c 90
and how do I check open_files from the command line?
Here is a good tutorial http://docs.nsclient.org/tutorial/nagios/check_nt.html but no examples for the checkfilesize
Code: Select all
define service{
use service ; Name of service template to use
host_name server
service_description Open Files
check_command check_open_files.pl!-w 30 -c 50!
}
Code: Select all
define service{
use service
host_name server
service_description Memory Usage
check_command check_nt!MEMUSE!-l -w 80 -c 90
}
and how do I check open_files from the command line?

Re: Check file size windows
So check_nt is not going to be able to execute the plugin, it is very limited to what it can do, hence this is why we need to use check_nrpe with NSClient++ and the nrpe module.
Can you please upload a copy of your nsclient.ini file.
Can you please answer this question. If you don't know, run this from your XI server:Box293 wrote:Also, what version of NSClient++ are you using?
Code: Select all
/usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H 192.168.0.10
Please provide the full command you typed at the command line along with the output. This will speed up the troubleshooting process and there might be a simple spelling mistake.brandon wrote:the same problem

Re: Check file size windows
For clarification, are you trying to run check_open_files.pl from the machine running NSClient or the Nagios machine?

just do not know how, because it does not work, and what to open_files workPlease provide the full command you typed at the command line along with the output.
Do this:
Open a command prompt
Code: Select all
cd "\Program Files\NSClient++\"
nscp settings --activate-module NRPEServer --add-defaults
nscp settings --path /settings/NRPE/server --key "allow arguments" --set true
nscp settings --path /settings/NRPE/server --key "allow nasty characters" --set true
Now test from your Nagios server:
check_nrpe -H 192.168.1.10 -c check_files -a path="c:\\test\\test.txt" 'filter=size gt 100k' 'master-syntax={%total% Files Found} %list%' 'syntax=%filename%: %size%' MaxCrit=1
As a note, I would upgrade to at least NSClient++ 0.4.3.138 onwards, as the commands from your version to this version have changed a bit.
On my site I show different examples for different versions of NSClient++:
http://sites.box293.com/nagios/guides/c ... es-folders
One last thing, NSClient++ has a module built in to check files, so there is no need for any extra scripts. My examples use the built in modules.

check_open_files works, but I do not know how to check the command line
I added NSCP settings on the command line, then did restart the NSClient++ service and:
Code: Select all
check_nrpe -H 192.168.1.10 -c check_files -a path="c:\\test\\test.txt" 'filter=size gt 100k' 'master-syntax={%total% Files Found} %list%' 'syntax=%filename%: %size%' MaxCrit=1
Exception processing request: Request contained arguments (not currently allowed, check the allow arguments option).
Re: Check file size windows
Can you add this to your NSClient configuration?
Then, restart the service and try again. Let us know the result.
Code: Select all
[/settings/NRPE/server]
allow arguments = true
