Mail sending out timeperiod in 3.0.6

Post by sbreit »

Hi there!

I'm running NAGIOS 3.0.6, which is unfortunately the most recent version I'll get rolled out by IT, but this is an other story.

Notifications have been limted to certain timeperiods by configuring each service the "24x7" notification period and a restricted Service Notification Period on the individual contact. Until recent, this worked as expected.

Without any apparent reason, NAGIOS began to send notifications out of this timeperiod, thus overriding the Service Notification Period configured on each contact.

The notification period that we use includes another time period with the "use"-directive. I don't know if that might be a problem, but the included timeperiods do not contain the times that mails are being send.

Here's the actual timeperiod, as displayed in the NAGIOS configuration:

2012-02-06 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
2012-02-09 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
2012-03-17 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
2012-03-28 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
2012-05-06 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
2013-01-29 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
2013-02-01 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
2013-03-09 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
2013-03-20 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
december 24 12:00:00 - 24:00:00
october 3 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
november 1 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
may 1 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
january 1 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
december 31 12:00:00 - 24:00:00
december 25 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
december 26 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
sunday 00:00:00 - 24:00:00
monday 17:30:00 - 24:00:00, 00:00:00 - 08:00:00
tuesday 17:30:00 - 24:00:00, 00:00:00 - 08:00:00
wednesday 17:30:00 - 24:00:00, 00:00:00 - 08:00:00
thursday 17:30:00 - 24:00:00, 00:00:00 - 08:00:00
friday 17:30:00 - 24:00:00, 00:00:00 - 08:00:00
saturday 00:00:00 - 24:00:00

Mails have been sent, for example, on October 10th, 14:44, which they shouldn't have, as far as I understand it.

Is there a general flag maybe, that service notification periods are allowed to override the individual contact notification periods, that I am missing?

Thanks in advance!

regards
Steffen
