Nagios Sound alarms and notifications

running Version 3.5.1

Is there any way to achieve this goal:

We would like to be able to mute the alarming sound of certain service, when it changes its state to non-ok, but still nagios should send notifications by mail. At this moment, when our noc presses the "Disable notifications" for the service to mute it on the Problems overview screen during the soft state, nagios won't send notifications, when it reaches the hard state, as notifications were disabled to mute the sound.

Any ideas?
