Nagios Logging Question

Post by SoulA »

I just recently updated to 3.3.1 and I started to get messages like these in /var/log/messages:

Service notify Host=example.server.com service=Backups email=RECOVERY0 state=OK duration=0d 0h 0m 2s output=Backup OK

They appear to come from Nagios every time a notification comes out. I have the syslog option set to 0 so I"m not sure why anything would be going to /var/log/messages and not just the nagios.log. I do want to log the notifications so I don't want to turn that off I just don't want to see them in /var/log/messages.

Any idea what changed and what I have to do to get these where I want them?

Never mind. I'm dumb and didn't realize we had something in our notification script to log them. Problem solved.
