Hello,
I am looking for suggestions on how to monitor all disk mounts for a dynamic environment. Occasionally admins will add a disk or two with a different drive letter, which of course will have critical data on it, and I need to ensure it is immediately(ish) monitored for available space.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Monitoring all disk mounts?
Re: Monitoring all disk mounts?
Sorry for not including that in my OP -- I'm talking about Linux here. Ubuntu 14.04 mostly, with some 16.04. Thanks again!ruffsense wrote:windows or Linux?

Re: Monitoring all disk mounts?
The short answer is to use something like this:
https://mathias-kettner.de/checkmk_inventory.html
Or perhaps another plugin on the Nagios exchange.
The long answer is there are many ways to do this, but nothing to provide dynamic mount point monitoring exists by default. Here is some more info on how to write a plugin:
https://nagios-plugins.org/doc/guidelines.html
https://mathias-kettner.de/checkmk_localchecks.html

SMNP can also expose mounts so this can be setup as well.
We do offer custom development for a fee if you are interested please contact sales@nagios.com
