I believe HP has a plugin that should work for this - https://github.com/HewlettPackard/nagio ... tree/1.5.0

Unfortunately, the plugin doesn't work with my ilO 2.20 server. Can you confirm that this plugin is also integrated with version that I'm using ?

It should work on any version of Nagios. If that won't work for iLO 2.20, then I would search our Exchange to see if you can find a plugin that will work - https://exchange.nagios.org

It may be worth reaching out to HP to ask about the version support. We don't have any HP equipment in house to test with.

Hi,

I installed the plugin, used the configuration wizard, but the website stopped working.
Despite of adjusted permissions for different files it still have Nagios process down.

The /usr/sbin/nagios -v /etc/nagios.cfg
brings up no errors.

We do not have a configuration wizard for this, or with Core - so I'm a bit confused what you ran. Can you please show us the commands you actually ran? It may help to see your apache logs as well.

I meant this script:
./hpeilo_nagios_config

Error: Could not open main config file ‘/etc/nagios/nagios.cfg’ for reading !
shows up when the website opens.

As it's a third party plugin, it's hard to say what was done. Can you post it for us to look at?

Also, waht are the permissions on the configuration file? ls -al /etc/nagios/nagios.cfg

I managed to start the service again.

I wonder is it possible to use check_by_ssh plugin to connect to ILO via ssh execute checking commands like disk checks as a walk around.

Probably, though we don't have such a system to test against unfortunately.

Here's our documents for Nagios XI regarding this topic. The steps for the first 4 pages should still be relevant even though this is a Nagios Core machine:
