Security, SSL, Passwords NSClient++

Post by aston »

Hi Guys

Hope your all well, this isnt so much as a question im just after some information regarding securing NScleint and nagios or even if you dont at all

i know i have an SSL option available to me and wondered what the process was to set this up and if its worth while

currently all of my monitoring is using Intertnal IP's to check public services etc as a little bit of insite we have 4 or so internal networks that i would like to monitor all linked by site to site VPN so no traffic is public. some servers that require monitoring are located on the DMZ and have external IP's and i wanted to make sure im not openng anything silly port wise etc to allow the nagios system to comunicate.

do any of you use SSL for example or what systems do you have inplace to secure your nagios installation

any advice or information regarding your setup would be great
