re-insall nrpe package from 2.14 to 2.15

Post by katya »

Hi Nagios Team,

i re-insall nrpe package on my solaris remote machine from nrpe-2.14 to 2.15 and from some reason when im doing /usr/local/nagios/libexec/check_nrpe -H 127.0.0.1 i still get nrpe V2.14

Can you please let me know from where this remote host take the information?

When you look at port 5666 on the solaris machine, what application is utilizing it?

Hi Nagios Team,

i ran "netstat -a | grep 5666" command on solaris machine and did not find port 5666.
it is "ssbtech01" application that is maintained by us.

Is it running stand alone or under xinetd? Chances are it's either pointing to another bin file, installed in multiple places, or needs to be restarted. I would verify with your Solaris admin how it was installed, that it's listening properly, and file is listening on the port locally.

Just checking in since we have not heard from you in a while. Did @rkennedy's post clear things up or has the issue otherwise been resolved?
