Hello erilane,
Do you have found any solution to this problem.
I am finding myself in the same position.
Since I started to feed some passive checks back through livestatus (Thruk business processes), I have started to get crashes (SIGTERM) in Nagios.

@danjoh,
Please let us know if you are able to produce this on Nagios running without livestatus or Thruk.

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't noticed you last comment until now.
4.2.3 running without mk_livestatus or not using mk_livestatus for status updates (Thruk --> Nagios) everything works fine.

I do know it is possible to use mk_livestatus with 4.2.4, but it is not something we support. We can leave this open in case anyone from the community wants to comment.
