I've got Nagios up and running monitoring a few hosts, but it's rather apparent that adding the 200+ hosts I'd like to monitor one at a time is not very productive.
I must assume that this has been solved many times and that Nagios even has a discovery tool perhaps?
Please don't tell me everyone writes their own custom scripts to create hosts.cfg lines to do this!?!?!
Thanks all

Adding multiple hosts or discovery? - n00b
Re: Adding multiple hosts or discovery? - n00b
There is no inbuilt tool in Nagios Core for host discovery, there are tools out there for device discovery that other people have written though I can't recommend any good ones as I have always written my own scripts.
Nagios XI (The paid version) does have bulk host management tools.
You can also use inheritance and templating to vastly lighten the amount of configuration necessary on a host definition.
