Nagios Core can monitor practically anything that you can write a script/binary for. Here's a few different plugins that people have written to help with monitoring NetApp storage:

It is possible to monitor it all using snmp.
The main problem is the load on the Netapp if you using SNMP too much. we are collecting data using Grafana and using Nagios for monitoring.
We are more and more thinking to either use the Grafana data to do monitoring as well, or make sure we do some sort of caching to collect "static" data and put that in a database and check regularly if the data is still correct.

Is it a normal Netapp appliance, or a clustered environment you want to monitor?

Thanks Rob & tgriep....
Can we use nagios plugins in Nagios core? Or we need to purchase commercial support?
Can these plugins work with all netapp model?
We want to monitor 7 mode as well as cluster mode appliance.

Any plugin written for use in Nagios Core or Nagios XI can be used in either software. There are some components/graphics that are specific to Core/XI, but the plugins should all work for Core.

You should be able to use those plugin in Nagios Core and they are free to use.
You would have to search the exchange site for the Netapp plugins and see if there are any details in what they do as well as the Models they support.

Take a look at these links to see if this is what you are looking for to monitor on your devices.
