Nagios User id on remote Servers

Post by chands »

Hello

I am in process of implementing Nagios monitoring across 100+ AIX nodes. I am looking for tips on the following
1. Can I have a Nagios NRPE scripts running as different user id? e.g. (xs_nagios)
2. Also would like this user to be a LDAP user-id, mean's I don't have to create a user/group on each AIX server

Some pointers in the right direction would be very helpful

Regards

1. Yes. On about line 54 of nrpe.cfg (depending on your version). Be sure to read the commends before that setting.
2. This question is best suited for your AIX administrator. It looks like this should be possible though: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/aix/ ... tegration/
