issue with ndoutils 2.1.3 and nagios 3.5.1

ive tried searching everywhere but cant find an answer to this

Error: Could not load module '/usr/local/nagios/bin/ndomod.o' -> /var/lib/nagios3/spool/checkresults/nebmodkn3lFI: undefined symbol: hostescalation_ary

i followed the offical install guide letter for letter but cant work out why its failing

Run the following commands and show the output:

cat /etc/*release
locate ndomod
grep 'ndomod\|broker' /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg

Note: If the path to nagios.cfg is different on your system, please modify the last command.

Another thing to verify that you copied the version 3 of the ndomodule and not the version 4 copy by mistake. That would cause the error as the symbol: hostescalation_ary for the 4.x version of Nagios.
The symbol: hostescalation_ary
